About the Artist

Ruth Adkins acrylic artist and nature lover.
Capturing vacation memories in vibrant layers.
My love of nature was developed in the hills of West Virginia, where I spent my childhood exploring the woods and developing a love for the outdoors. That early connection to nature remains the heart of my work today.
What began as a simple desire to preserve the magic of my favorite vacations has evolved into a dedicated artistic practice. I chose acrylics for their versatility and quick-drying nature, allowing me to build the rich vibrant layers necessary to bring a scene to life. While my roots are in realism, my style has gradually shifted toward a storybook quality. I feel it's a reflection of how we remember the places we love: vibrant, slightly enchanted, and full of life.
Whether I am painting the ocean from a Hawaiian vacation, a field of daisies, or the sun setting through the trees, my goal is the same: to share my joy of discovery and love of nature. I invite you to step into these memories and find a story of your own within the layers.
